Chef Luís Batalha

Currently at the Macdonald Monchique Resort & Spa, Luís Batalha began his career in 1995 at Le Meridien Park Hotel Lisboa, moving on to the Ritz Four Seasons.

In 2000 he decides to make the shift towards La Grande Mare Hotel, a boutique hotel with a Michelin star at the Channel Islands, coming back to Portugal in the following year as Sous Chef at the Restaurante Ocean at Vila Vita Parc.

In 2004 he takes over the kitchen at the Convento do Espinheiro Collection Hotel in Évora, passing afterwards through Suites Alba Resort and the CS Atlantic Hotel as Executive Chef.

Before taking on the role that he currently fulfills, he also spent some time in the Cascade Resort, JJW Hotels and Resorts (Vale do Lobo) and the Dona Filipa Hotel, both as Executive Chef.
